The Four Phases

Shared living, is simply taking an existing three (3) bedroom single family home, while adding an additional basement bedroom to accommodate four individuals. Hope Housing for Humanity calls this clean shared living space. The sole purpose of the residence is to provide a safe healing space for individuals who are suffering from alcoholism, drug addiction and other mental health issues. Individuals in this shared space living must be participating in a program and not using alcohol, or drugs and/or be working, enrolled in school, or some other training program. 

Shared living also means all persons living in any home that hope housing for humanity provides has a reasonability for the maintenance and general upkeep of the home which includes;

• All residents are responsible for cleaning their owe rooms as well as sharing in the cleaning of all common areas
• Snow removal of walkways, sidewalks, or anywhere snow accumulates that could be deemed a hazard for the residence, as well as the public.
• After removal of snow, salt walkways and sidewalk.
• Cutting grass, pulling weeds
• Sweeping walkways, sidewalks
• Taken out garbage on scheduled city pick up days

As well as being mindful of neighbours and ensuring both the exterior and interior of the property is kept clean and tidy; our program depends on it.

Hope Housing wants to create an environment where individuals can feel safe. In the event that an individual relapses that person would be asked to leave for the wellbeing and safety of all others that reside in the home. When one person relapses, that could seriously affect the sobriety of the other individuals. Once we have successfully launched Phase 1, we will undertake the next steps, Phase 3 and Phase 4
