About Us
Hope Housing for Humanity is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping those in recovery from alcohol addiction, drug addiction and mental illness needing access to affordable housing in safe neighbourhoods. This housing is to be provided f or those who have gone through rehab and are now drug or alcohol free, and who are working with a medical professional to stay that way. The project is seeking to create a multitude of fixed-income rental properties in various neighbourhoods throughout the GTA. The idea is to foster opportunities for everyone to live and thrive in good neighbourhoods. We want to create properties in which each unit will be affordable for the person or family renting, ensuring that people in our program can be confident they can afford rent and have a safe place to live.
Our Founder
Mario Lamanna is the founder of Hope Housing for Humanity. He started this group in the hopes of giving back to his community. Housing insecurity is a serious problem in Toronto, homeless people in our city struggle with mental illness, and many struggle with alcohol and drug addiction as well. Mario recognized that these hurdles were impossible to overcome simultaneously without help, and so Hope Housing for Humanity was born. Mario is extremely passionate about this project. He believes it is a basic human right to have a safe and affordable place to call home.
